Hooray! It’s finally here!! The 2016  Ride Season has begun!

I hope all of you have been on your bikes or your trainers this winter so that spring riding isn’t so painful.  But if you have not – I am sure it will not take long for you to get your cycling legs back.  We have regularly scheduled rides almost every day of the week beginning Saturday, April 9.

Our Annual Kick Off Ride is now known as the Cary Way Kick Off Ride, in appreciation of the years that Cary Way dedicated to this club. This year we will be riding, eating and meeting from the Shelbyville Mills Baptist Church.  Our club member, who is also the pastor at Shelbyville Mills, Jono Sims, has graciously offered to host our kick off ride and feed us lunch afterwards. I hope you can join us for a fun day of cycling, good eating, and reconnecting with our cycling friends.  See inside the newsletter for more details.

This is the beginning of my fourth year serving as president of the Murfreesboro Bike Club.  I am just as excited and honored to be serving as your president this year, as when first elected.  But like any good office holder, I need to be thinking about and recruiting my replacement. Just putting that out there – so if there is anyone who thinks they might be interested in serving in the role – please let me know.

Our other officers for 2016 include Janet Fry, serving as Secretary; Bryan Campbell, serving as Treasurer; Steve Lovett, serving as Communication Director; and Bob Barkley, serving as Ride Director.

Assisting Janet as Statistician is Bobbi Davolio and Membership Coordinator is Steve Lovett.  Assisting Steve as Newletter Editor is Alicja Lanfeer.  Steve is also the Webmaster.  Bob Barkley is assisted by our Mt. Bike Coordinator, Garrett Dunnam; Touring Coordinator and HOT 100 Coordinator, Bill Heim; and our Comfort Zone and Ride Like a Girl Coordinator, Kellee Inskeep.

If you have ideas or suggestions to make this club better – reach out to any of us.  If you have complaints, we also want to hear from you – but with your complaint, bring ideas for resolution. This is your club!
